What Qualifies either Obama or Hillary to be considered for President?
(Please don’t make this question about Bush – Just Answer the question)
The 2008 presidential race is off and running. It is popular to bemoan the lack of qualified candidates in the race. I wholeheartedly disagree. Many of the candidates have much valued experience in business, military and government. In 1984, Mitt Romney founded Bain Capital, one of the nation’s most successful venture capital and investment companies. Bain Capital helped launch hundreds of companies on a successful course, including Staples and Domino’s Pizza. Like Rudy Giuliani who was mayor of New York City, Romney also has executive experience as Governor of Massachusetts. John McCain was an officer in the military and is the senior senator from Arizona serving since 1987. All three of the declared republican front runners have very thick resumes as you should when applying for the most powerful executive position known to man.
Imagine if the republican front runner was a new member of congress with no military, business or executive experience. People would rightly challenge his/her lack of credentials. Likewise, suppose the Democrat front runners were Barak Hussein Osama and Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Past Presidents;
Bush 2 – Executive experience as twice elected Governor of Texas. Business Experience. Military experience flying Jets in the Guard.
Clinton – Executive experience as Governor of Arkansas.
Bush 1 – Executive experience in Business and as head of the CIA. Served in WW2.
Reagan – Executive experience as Governor of California
Carter – Governor of Georgia. Military experience.
JFK had a thin resume but at least he served in the Military.
Hillary – ?
Obama – ?

Obama was opposed to the war in Iraq, even when it was popular. I think that shows good judgment on his part.

If you’re implying that Clinton and Obama are on the ticket because of race and gender, sweetie, you have a lot to learn.
Clinton is a shrewd, smart politician (like it or not) and Obama is charismatic and is using that to propel his career forward.

Obama was a state senator for 1-2 terms before being elected to Senate.
Hitlery has 1 term in the Senate.
The fact that they are liberals precludes them being qualified.

Based on the Constitution they were both born in the United States, are 35 years of age or older and have lived in the US for the last 14 years.

Neither of them are qualified, especially after they voted for the immigration bill.
The only truly qualified candidate, who will uphold the Constitution, is Ron Paul.

Obama and Hillary are in bed with the corporations too much for me but I will vote for them if I have to, I know that sounds bad but the Republican party is outdated with the will of the majority of the American people and is a fading generation of corporate royalist and fallow father figures that know best instead of representatives of the people from their area.

Besides the 35 year old age requirement and the natural-born citizenship requirement, any other qualifications for anyone being president are very subjective, depending on each individual voter’s defintion of ‘qualified’.

Hillary Clinton is the junior United States Senator in New York. She is married to Bill Clinton, the former President of the United States, therefore she has alot of experience in politics.
Barack Hussein Obama is the junior United States Senator of Illinois. Therefore he is qualified to become president.

Hillary had a president husband – that makes her qualified to cook diner and wash cloths.as president,i see zero reason to vote for her.

If we are going strictly on resume then the most qualified candidate is Bill Richardson with Executive, Legislative, Judicial and Foreign policy experience. Tell you what if you throw your support to him so will I. After all Rudy was a failed mayor of New York (We hated him till 9-11) Thompson has the same problems as you claim Hillary and Barack do, Romney has no legislative experience and McCain and Edwards no Executive experience
So how about it? As soon as you post a question in support of Governor Richardson I will do the same

Don’t forget that Bush 1 was VP, and Kennedy was a Senator. Compared to some of the other candidates on both sides, Clinton and Obama’s resumes are thin. They both are long on ego and ambition, though. You decide if that’s good or bad.

As I recall, one only has to be 35 years of age and a naturally born American citizen who has lived in the United States for 14 years.
Article II, Section One, Clause five states of the Constitution of the United States states:
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
So, where is the problem? Actually, someone who has not been exposed to Washington might make a better president.
Did you say the current President Bush was flying jets in the National Guard? Wasn’t that during that minor incursion we had in Southeast Asia, in which a lot of Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen got killed?? Sounds like he had pretty tough duty.

Your question is answered when the best anyone could come up with is that they meet the Constitutional guidelines.
Hilary Diane Clinton has no qualification to run for president. She is a lying, opportunistic Harpy. She is married to a man who lied, under oath, to a federal grand jury & dodged the draft. They are both implicated in numerous deaths
Barrack Osama is two-faced. He shows his smile and charisma on TV. However, when meeting with someone that disagrees with him, if they are not on camera, he is vicious and nasty. He claims to be a Protestant, yet he was raised in Islamic “traditions.” He also did not serve his country in service.
As a veteran from the Vietnam era, I know that President Bush was subject to call up, just like anybody else in the service, at that time. His service in the ANG was, indeed, service to his country and he was not responsible for whether he was called to Vietnam, or not.

You forgot to mention the Republican Party’s willingness to elect a man with no military experience (he did not fly “jets”, he flew F104s (twice) until he deserted) and a very spotty business resume, now questioning the qualifications of candidates they oppose, while never acknowledging their own hypocracy.
I am voting for one of the two of them if for no other reason than it will drive Republicans absolutely out of their minds.

Both Hillary and Bark have pretty much as much experience as many past presidents. The current president’s experience as the Governor of Texas is pretty slim. By most accounts, the Governor of Texas has little more than cereminial duties. As for business experience, he has never formed a successful business, only headed already successful ones. His military experience was limited to the Air National Guard and he didn’t even keep his flying status active.
The Republican favorite, Ronnie “Poppie” Reagan came to office after a successful acting career. A declared “fiscal conservative” he managed to run up a larger national debt than all presidents before him put together and created a larger military-industrial complex in peacetime than was needed for every war fought before he rose to “power”.
The chief executive of the nation is aided by enough advisors that even an idiot could run the country with some success. Luckily, the president is limited to only eight years in office, by which time the weaknesses of even a very popular president begin to show through.
Of all the candidates running, Hillary is the only one that has actually lived in the White House. If elected, perhaps she’ll bring back some of the china.

While I probably wouldn’t vote for Obama and definitely not for Hillary, I fail to see why being a state senator is a lesser qualification than being mayor of a large city (Giuliani) or governor (Romney). Care to enlighten us?
