Are there any Venture Capital Funds that offer accounts to small investors? As an alterantive to wall street trading?

Most venture capital funds require investors to be accredited investors per the SEC definition. An accredited investor must either be:
A) a financial institution
B) an affiliate of the issuer
C) an individual with a net worth of at least $1 million or an annual income of at least $200,000, and the investment must not account for more than 20% of the investor’s worth.
As long as you fall within those categories, you should be able to find a Venture Capital fund that would take your money. I would contact any local angel investor groups in your area and ask to attend some of their meetings. At those meetings, you will meet a bunch of wealthy individuals that like to discuss investing and venture capital, but also you will find some smaller VC’s that would be willing to take your money and invest for you.
Please be aware, this is a very difficult space to invest in and I would spend a lot of time researching the firm you invest with.
No big fund or established fund will be interested in talking with you unless you have $10M to play around with. These big or established funds usually get the best returns, because they are privy to some of the best deal flow avenues.
Good luck!
